International Development Enterprises (IDE) is the principle service project and administrator of the RPI project. IDE is a different kind of non-profit organization. We are dedicated to ending poverty in the developing world not through handouts, but by helping poor farmers invest in their own success. Our core values are:

The Gates Foundation is the principle donor for the RPI project. Bill and Melinda Gates believe every life has equal value. In 2000, they created the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to help reduce inequities in the United States and around the world.  Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, the foundation is led by co-chairs Bill Gates, Melinda Gates, and William H. Gates Sr., and by CEO Patty Stonesifer.

 

Every hour of every day, the Dutch Govenment Ministry of Foreign Affairs promotes the interests of the Kingdom abroad. As a country that looks beyond its borders, the Netherlands is committed to promoting the international legal order and building a safe, stable and prosperous world. They are dedicated to eliminating conflict, poverty and injustice. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a donor for the RPI project.

 

IDE India is an Indian not -for- profit enterprise committed to providing long-term solutions to poverty, hunger and malnutrition. They stimulate a sustainable and free market by creating demand for affordable technologies and ensuring a sustainable supply chain.

 

FIELD is designed to promote access to affordable and appropriate technologies for small scale farmers in developing countries. By providing comprehensive information, connections to resources, and networking among an international community working on innovation and product development in small scale agricultural technologies, FIELD can play a key role in getting better technology into the market for smallholders.

 

MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Associates) is an association of compassionate business women and men who invest in the lives of families living in poverty around the world. Products and services include Microfinance, Production & Marketing Linkages, Community Economic Development, Investment Fund Development, Member Services, and Foreign Exchange.

 

The mission of Practica is poverty alleviation through dissemination of best practices and development and  promotion of appropriate water and energy related technologies and services.

 

The Wageningen Irrigation & Water Engineering Group is committed to understanding all there is to water in agriculture. Irrigation - from farm to watershed level - is the main focus. The aim is not only to understand the technical and ecological forces, but also the social forces that drive water use.

 

The Agricultural Economics Research Institute (LEI) develops economic expertise for government bodies and industry in the field of food, agriculture and the natural environment. By means of independent research, LEI offers its customers a solid basis for socially and strategically justifiable policy choices.

 

 

Keller-Bliesner Engineering, LLC is an engineering consulting company specializing in irrigated agriculture and its relationship to the environment. Company resources include expertise in nearly all areas of water resources engineering with project experience ranging from regional to individual field scale. Their philosophy is that growing water demands for and impending conflicts between agricultural, urban and environmental uses can best be solved through innovative application of sound science in a collaborative setting.

 

 

GEO/Graphics provides consulting services in the fields of GIS, GPS, Cartography, and Photogrammetry, and is located in Logan, Utah. The GEO/Graphics team is involved in the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Environmental, and Data Management efforts for the IDE-RPI project. GEO/Graphics created, hosts, and manages this website, as well as the RPI project web maps.
